Inspection Camera

Was in Lidls today with Mrs Fergie and I went for an amble through their special offers bins that they have in the centre of the shop.
And I found an inspection camera for £39.99 - nice size full colour display and a long probe with the camera at the end which has a screw collar for the attachment to the hand held unit. All comes in a black poly moulded case.
This is about half price or so and it's got to be brilliant for looking inside those pesky cylinders to look for steam cleaning evidence etc - as well as whats goes on behind fascias, too.
Amongst other things - so if you've always sort of thought you could use one, hopefully your local store will have them.

@Pikey bought one the last time they were flogging them, handy bit of kit if they last any length of time.

To look at your failing bits? . There is usually a 3 yr warranty from Aldi/LIdl .

Is it a complete self contained unit? I bought something similar from eBay but it needs plugging into a laptop to see the images.

Yes, self contained.
They used to be circa £75? A few yrs ago ,still quite cheap at that but I got one that plugs into an old laptop with an led bulb on the end from China for £17 and that works fine.

I have a cheep one of fleebay £10 and 10m long water proof, found an app to run it on me phone, come in handy for work.

I use a micro USB camera that connects to your phone. Only about £10 from flea bay and they come with a couple of extra attachments such as a 45 degree mirror and a magnet plus its is IP rated. When needed I tape it to a bit of garden bamboo.

They have really good long range as well. If you put them between you legs you can see Uranus.

Common problem with them Alan. Had a couple like that. The metal strip takes positive from the base of first battery to go in and makes contact with the tab on the board to put 6 volts through. If the strip touches the edge of the second battery to go in you only get 3 volts to board. And you get battery low message. A small strip of insulation tape over strip inside battery carrier sorts that out.

Yep 10 meters long, you can poke it down a lot of pipe

I got on of these two years ago, brilliant for examining the back of todays engines squeezed into small engine bays! Worth there weight in gold for me!

Whats the brand name...Parkside/ powerfix .?

mines a titan made unit.

just used it look at these buggers!

I thought Titan was a Screwfix brand name..........only place I have ever seen the stuff before. Obviously not. I learned something new today, and I only just got up.....result.
