Hi all, just a simple question that has been on my mind for ages, except for when I am anywhere near the computer, so keep forgetting. - It's an age thing.
OK, so to remove the output flange on the tranny box to replace the oil seal the nut has to come off, I have done this in the past with a long length of angle bolted to the flange to get some welly on the nut with a breaker bar.
Just thinking what sort of problems I am going to give myself if I remove the nut with a ratchet gun, would I run the risk of damaging the gear teeth in the tranny box ? or diff for that matter?
I know I will still have to hold the flange to re-tighten the nut on re-assembly but it is often the getting off that seems to be the hardest part.
Thanks in advice for any replies.
