Question time again...

Someone reversed into the drivers door of the landy, decimating the door and damaging sill covers and the actual sills that run under the edge of the floor plates. These obviously need replaced now...

The doors no problem, but I'm confused about the sills.

I've seen replacement sills online, but it seems there's no real 'how to' guide for changing them, as there is for almost everything else....

Would I be right in thinking I remove the triangular quarter panels just below/behind the 2nd row doors, then its just a case of bolts out, crap parts out - new parts in, bolts in, then re-rivet the panels?

OR would I need to weld the door posts to the new sills rather than bolt them?

I'm hoping its the simpler option of all bolts, no weld!

the part you are referring to is actually the B post/pillar. It goes from behind the triangle bit you mentioned takes in the full pillar that holds the second row door and also continues along under the front floor pan to the bulkhead. It is originally one part...
Good news is that YRM make replacement parts now so you just need to buy the bits you need and weld them in. When i had my 110CSW the parts wernt available so you had to either buy the full part from landrover at over £300 or fabricate your own> As i was just needing the sill at the rear floor and the bit behind the triangle i fabricated and welded them in myself, Got the metal from the metal supermarket. Cost me about £20 to do both sides including welding wire and gas :)

I agree with Andy mcd. I just refurbished my 110. The sprayers I took it to ripped out the old rotten sills and fabricated new ones. You can get adhesive rubber door seals for the sills from ebay or Woolies Trim for the inner part. I've removed the lower sill completely and put rock sliders on.
