I've started to change the head gasket on my 3.9, however the inlet manifold
won't budge. All 12 bolts have been removed, but it appears that at some
point its been off before, as there appears to be a load of sealent oozing
out.

Which is the correct way to lift it off? I assume there are no dowels or
anything which mean it has to come up vertically.....or are there? And what
would you do to try and ease it off?

Thanks,
Paul

I've no idea if there are any dowels but I'd try lots of blows with a
rubber/nylon/plastic mallet.

I don't think i ever want to go near my landy with a crow-bar. i'd be likely
to give it a good sharp whack in the guts with the pointy end.
