injectors

Hi just put my cars injectors back in after a clean ,4.6. Its is running rich and smoking black a bit from the exhaust,also it doesnt start straight away,but if i turn the ign on and prime the fuel it will start start straight away. I,m thinking leaking injector.The reason for the clean was crap sucked up from the fuel tank.Any thoughts.

You've already checked the O2 sensors?

I would also be looking at the pump and filter.

If it already picked up crud, and is now hard to start unless the system is primed, it points to a lack of fuel.

Perhaps the pump is choked and/or the filter.

i have already cleaned the tank, fitted a new pump and filter and cleaned the injectors.i tested them on a bench and they were working fine,thanks for the input.

Mine does,nt have 02 sensors.i,m glad to say ,one less thing to go wrong.
