Hi all having done a leak back test I have a faulty injector, the guy says to just get 1, now the car has done 90k so I figure the rest won't be far behind, does anyone know the best place to get a full set, it's an 04 td4 by the way,

Many thanks

Yeh been looking on the bay cheapest I found is 155 each, but they do 2 sorts and the other is 245 each chances are mine are the 245 ones ha ha

You dont say where your from, but check out Angeloc's thread on this forum. Alot of talk about best places to get your injectors recon'ed.

If you do want 4 new ones. Then yeah ebay or dealer.

Iam from high wycombe bud, will check out the thread, I did search just found lots of threads about duff injectors ha ha

Cheers

Do you think it's worth just replacing the duff one then?

Plenty of TD4's have covered well over 100,000 miles with no injector problems especially if you use a good quality injector cleaner, I'd just change the one.

I had mine all checked last week and one of them was pretty bad, enough that the car wouldn't start without easy start. I just had the one changed as they are normally tough as old boots & last for ages.

Running perfect now that the one injector has been done, I've switched to using BP ultimate instead of millers (the car has been run on millers at double dose for the past 40k miles) and I put a whole bottle of Diesel Detox through to make sure the other 3 injectors are cleaned.

Might be completely unrelated but my Injector failed after adding 2 stroke oil to my tank, I only got through one bottle of Tesco 2 stroke oil before the injector failed.

It's only on the odd occasion that it struggles , suppose it depends on which cylinder it's on but want to get it done before it starts putting diesel in the oil, it's still under warranty only had it a couple of months but the only part of the fuel system not covered is............. Yep injectors lol, thanks for all your help guys wil just change the one then

You shouldn't get diesel in the oil from a faulty injector unless it's leaking out before the combustion chamber. Millers seems to be very popular with many members, I use redex injector cleaner every fill as I only buy Supermarket fuel, I gave two stroke a try but noticed no benefit. I personally think that using diesel, which contains additive, from one of the oil company majors is a better option than adding two stroke, unfortunately my nearest Shell garage is about 20 miles away so I use Tesco diesel. The advice from the oil company majors is that you don't use two stroke in modern common rail injection systems, the choice is yours.

No I wouldn't put 2 stroke in a common rail anyway, only use shell petrol as its only 2 miles from the house, they get a lot of money out of me there my other car my toy only runs on v power lol, only said about diesel in the oil as my mate Mondeo was doing this, fecking oil was like water when I changed it for him ha ha. Though it has been to the moon and back
