hi I have a 2005 range rover vogue td6 . coming home the other day dash beeped at me and said injector system fault then I lost power and a load of black smoke came out of the exhuast . got it recovered to the garage. tried restarting it at the side of the road and the engine would turn over but not start. The garage can not get the engine to turn over now it just clicks and nothing .it is still saying injector system fault. they put the machine on it and it said it had low diesel pressure or something very similar there were two codes cant remember what they were. they are now stumped and looks like may have to take it to a specialist . any one had similar or any ideas what the problem could be . they have recharged the battery.

Fuel pump would be my guess. Does the fault come back even with a charged battery? I know range rovers hate a weak battery so I'd replace/test the battery and if that doesn't help, try a new fuel pump.
Would be useful to know the exact codes stored and if they used dedicated RR diag?

I'd suspect #4 injector, .....only because @wammers often reminds us of it's particular significance.
Wammers is the diesel guru here. Top man.
Will the 2005 be the same system as the p38? I thought that it was a common rail injection on l322 models. That would be backed up by low diesel pressure (I'm guessing low fuel rail pressure)

Great result, now don't tell anyone it was a guess on my part.....fiver in the post all for you ;);)

(ps... don't spend it all in the one shop!)
