Has anyone stripped an injector?

what happened? did you manage to clean it affectively?

did it end u pin the bin?

I’m thinking about stripping my injectors and cleaning them in an ultrasonic bath before anyone asks, yes I’ve stripped injectors before and had varying results

Unless you have a machine to reset them forget it.

?? please expand on this?

in the past I've stripped diesel injectors and inside them (working up from the bottom of the injector) is....

lower body (bit that holds it into head)
Nozzle
Nozzle Needle
middle plate
pressure pin
spring
shim
upper body

once cleaned (ultrasonic bath) and dried they go back together lower to upper body is tightened to 80NM

so as long as you do 1 injector at a time, should be ok?? never had an issue before?

or do these have something that's going to shoot out at 100mph across my workshop and never be seen again?

No but injectors get tired at around 100,000 miles lose crack pressure. You may as well get them refurbished and reset. Diesel Bob does them at around £30.00 a pop. If you want to clean yours be my guest.

Saw a set of new nozzles (6) on flea bay for about £96, there is a video on a V/hall omega site dealing with the strip and rebuild. Seems v. easy as long as you have the ultra sound bath.
