which ones? , there seems to be 2 different types, both listed as for the 300tdi, one is flat, the other has a raised bulge.
second, if its the bulge, which way up do they go??

Well, seeing as no one seemed to know, I ended up with flat ones.

These are crap.

good job I ordered 2 sets, first time 2 sealed ok, 1 slight blow, one badly blowing.
Took the 2 bad ones out again, checked and reseated, again one slight blow, toher badly (but tother way around)
last attempt, got one more to seal, and still have one with a slight blow, spoke to a deisel specialist on sat aft, aparrently the flat ones are all crap, especially on older engines, the raised bump allows a better seal with less clamping pressure.

so, washers with bumps on order... grrr.

On the 300TDi the concave face of the copper washer is towards the injector, if that helps.

The flat washers are wrong for the 300TDi, as they should be 'dished'.

bugger.

well, you live and learn, loads of sellers selling them under the same P/N as the others, correct ones on their way, from a deisel man, not a fleabay seller.

still running a hell of a lot better that it was, even with a compression leak and second hand injectors, the old ones were rather cruded up to say the least and are now away being reconditioned.

Are you torqueing them up ? I had them blowing (sprayed WD40 around the base to see) and it turns out I was considerably under torquing them.

Done, spot on :)

Studs were all in good nick tbh , I'd looked at them before hand to see if i needed new ones :) Think the perpetual leak from the rocker cover has kept them safe :D

Annoying part is the flat ones I got in the first place cost the same as the proper ones, when I looked the flat ones were a thicker copper, so I presumed that would be "better" than the ridged ones, not thinking that ridge would help it crush and seal
