Hi ,
need a bit of advise I am ashamed to say that somehow my fuel filter got well and truly gummed up with muck not sure how but if I had changed the filter regularly I would not be in this mess. well I changed the filter as the engine stopped and someone told me it was dirty fuel well the up shot is that although I have bled the pump and the filter with clean fuel it will not start because it will not push fuel to the injectors so I am assuming that the pump is clogged up . my question is simple can I use anything to clean it out in the vehicle or is it terminal and needing to come out.

Are you sure stop solenoid is working?
You can remove it, remove the spring and seal and refit it, you will have to stall it but this will tell you 100 percent if its duff or not.
Always worth buying your filters in bulk and changing the fuel filter every 6 months, takes minutes.

Hi thanks for reply yes I have checked the solenoid its working and I have tried it without its bits and still no joy

If it stopped before you changed the filter then it will probably be something else as the filter would have to be completely blocked to starve the engine. Does the lift pump squirt the fuel out of the bleed bolt and have you bled it at the pump input banjo?

Have you taken the FIP sprocket cover off (3 bolts) to make sure the pump is spinning when you crank it or looked in the oil filler cap see if the valve rockers are moving to make sure timing belt hasn't snapped?

Hi I have bled it through the pump and the banjo it flows freely and I have also checked the belt has not snapped the pump is spinning but the filter was well and truly full of sludge

Try a squirt of easystart just to check it is only fuel related

Maybe rig up a 5 litre can of clean fuel on top of the engine so bypassing the rest of the possibly faulty system.
