Hi,

I ordered 5 Britpart washers and 5 "OEM" o rings for the injectors on my 10P Td5 from a company. They sent me the washers and O rings all together in a non sealed Britpart bag, however I am inclined to believe that the Orings are in fact britpart, not OEM. The o rings on my injectors are red and these are black. After a quick search on paddocks, the OEM ones are indeed red, and britpart is black.

Any opinions? I paid 50 euros for these...

I thought it was recommended to use genuine.
Yes, but they didnt carry genuine. And those are green? However if these are Britpart I reckon I'm better off with the old ones. Just dont fancy throwing money and getting the wrong part. I posted this in hopes that someone could confirm whether or not I am wrong?

"OEM" means nothing these days, it's just a marketing scam for various aftermarket parts, if you can't afford genuine LR(which are actually green) then buy branded ones like Viton, a friend of mine fitted some so called OEMs and they leaked straight away

I fitted the black 'Britpart' ones without issue.

Fair enough, I understand your view, my problem atm is that I paid 50 euros and they sent me Britpart which cost 8 euros on Paddocks! Genuine are only 20e more on top for a price that is already crazy for some o rings... but I understand that they do a difficult job. The britpart ones just look like they come out of a random o ring set.

Btw, Sierra, how can you tell if they leak straight away? Test the oil for diesel contamination? Also, maybe you also have bad experiences with LR Yard?

That's a valid point. If you're fitting cheap parts you want to be paying cheap prices.
