lots of play in prop on rear axle,k reg v8 discovery,is there an easy fix,will a diesel 200 or 300 axle be the same,

As long as it has the same number of splines in it should be written on the diff under the dirt and oil lol. other than that yes it will no problem under the hundred nuts and pull the half sharfts out (easy) and it will slide straight out.

Talking about the half shafts check theses first as they are prone for wearing and the bit that you undo to get the half shafts out cant remember the name for them sorry.

another thing which is happening,its auto,and sometimes if put in reverse something locks up,you have to press accelerator and then it makes a clonk and moves,dont think its the gearbox,as i stuck it in neutral got out and tryed to push backwards and was locked up somewere,
