Hei there,
My 1985 3.5 EFI just stopped working out of the blue. You've heard it all before..!!! Anyhow good spark etc but the fuel pump is not turning on. I have ran a hotwire and it is working well but still the engine won't start even when the fuel pump , she fires for a second or so but that's it. Just wondering if there could be an ECU reason why she won't run even with the pump hotwired.
I've looked everywhere but cannot find the Inertia switch (if there is one) as that sounded like a likely cause. Any help is much appreciated in advance.

I am no expert , but I dont think they fitted one untill the later hotwire type injection came in -in 1990ish. If it has one it should be under one of the front seats.

as fett says there is no inertia switch on that model.
thre last vehicle i had with that problem, and i say this with tongue in cheek, it turned out to be low on fuel, even though the fuel gauge and its owner tried telling me a different story.

Thanks for the replies gents. It turns out that when I put the gearbox in N then the pump does as it should, must be a switch on the selector lever...!!! Now I just have to trace a weak spark..!!!
