Indicator problems

Hello all I'm just wondering if anyone may be able to help me with a problem I'm having with my directional indicators on my 2002 defender 110. They will be working fine then the indicators and hazards just stop working but if I give the steering wheel a knock they will start to work again. Is it a wiring problem as I've changed the indicator stalk and it still happens. Any thoughts would be great.

Indicators run through hazard warning switch. When there not working give hazard switch a tap and see what happens.
Just changed mine for same reason.

Cheers for that next time it happens I'll try tapping the hazard button and see what happens
