Hi guys new to the forum.
I have just purchased a 1998 range rover 2.5DSE auto which has a fault on the indicators.
The n/s indicator fails to work the O/s works as it should so does the hazard warning lights.
Any suggestions what may be wrong i have tried a replacement indicator stalk
Also where is the indicator relay/
thanks
John

It's all done by the BECM, there is no conventional indicator relay.
Could be a prodlem in the BECM:eek: You need an auto electrician preferably with Testbook or a Faultmate to diagnose the problem:eek::eek::eek:

Guys, I have had the becm and ecu checked and following some internal corrosion has 100% efficiency according to Callrova.com. Service carried out is advanced diagnostics and repair, electro corrosion and Becm service and reset. However I still have the same problem no passenger indicator although it does work on hazards. I am at a total loss with this and desperate for some ideas. can anyone help? I have tried a replacement indicator stalk prior to Becm diagnostics but the problem was still there. So in short I feel i have ruled out wiring, Becm, Ecu and indictor stalk.

If the BECM is OK and the replacement indicator stalk is known to be good, then there must be a fault in the wiring from the stalk to the BECM. Check the wiring from the stalk down the column for breaks. You really need to either check for continuity with a multimeter set to ohms, or physically check the wiring.

I have checked for continuity between the multi plugs in both footwells. there was a little corrosion around one in passenger side but I cleaned them up and full continuity between was available.
Is there any way to short the indicator stalk to check this again as the one I bought was from ebay and was guaranteed to work. I have however sent it back for a refund as it did not hve the trip switch for the computer on.
Failing all of this and if i find no breaks in the wiring loom where can I go is it possible to break into the circuit and re wire direct in some way?
Thanks
john

Thanks Guys for your support here. I have now got the indicators all working as they should.........not sure what was wrong must have been a bad connection as I pulled each wire out of the loom checking it back to the Becm It was possibly a loose earth as I had to tighten the earth wires to the drivers footwell but not sure if I had loosened them as I was messing around anyway if that was it they couldnt have been tight to start with.
Once again thankyou.
