Hello,

I need some help. My Front left indicators dont work (bulbs are fine), but the rear one and the right side do.

i first looked at the relay and it was going like the clappers when turning left and normal speed when going right! So i replaced it with wipec one. (the Trailer light now lights up is this normal?)

This didnt sort the front fault out but it ticks over at a normal speed now.

ive not checked the hazard switch yet? but i took alook at it and its differnt from other 200tdi's, well the switch is the same but i dont have the 2 wires attached to the outside of it? Does it sound like an earth fault (where is it on the left indicators), or a power issue?

Has anyone got any ideas? Ive had a mooch on the website i can't really see similar issues but i have probably missed it of there are!

thanks

Richard

Won't be the relay, they normally go fast when one bulb isn't working. When you say ''front indicators' do you mean the front and wing indicators or just the front one? If both then you have a wiring or hazard switch snag, if just the front you may have a duff indicator holder or wiring snag. If your holder is on a connector try swapping it with the other side to see if the fault moves or stays on the same side. If it moves your holder is duff, if it stays you have a wiring fault and need to check you have a good earth connection, if the earth is good then you have a break in the +12v supply to the bulb. Report back once you have done that.

I do mean the front and the wing indicators just on the front left side. so it could be a wiring issue or hazard swtich issue.

where is the earth point for the front lights on the left side?

Extract from a 300tdi wiring diagram below but should be similar. The yellow highlighted sections are the areas were a fault would have to be to cause the fault you describe assuming the right hand side and the rear left work as advertised. So shouldn't be a hazard switch issue. You need to remove the bulbs from both duff left hand indicators (to remove any parallel paths) and then check with a multimeter that you have good continuity from the bulb holder black wire back to the battery -ve terminal (less than 1 ohm). That will prove whether it is a supply or earth issue and go from there
