Hello all - does anyone know if the nuts for the bolts on the inboard seat belt attachments are captive or if doing anything with them will require the wife to get under the Landy?

Yes. Arms come up from the tubular outriggers with flat plates on the top. The tub sits on top of these plates and the seat belts bolt on to the plates with the tub in between. The metal plates have nuts welded to them so they have a good hold, unlike some captive nuts. From under the tub these nuts get a lot of road water and dirt, so expect them to be seized. Work them back and forth with some good penetrating fluid. You don't want to snap one.
EDIT
Mine is a 96 plate 300Tdi and I see yours is a 54 plate TD5. They're probably the same, but I don't know for sure!
