In car sound

Hi,

Can anyone out there help ?. I have just brought a 1993 Disco 200 tdi
and should take delivery of it in next couple of weeks, but I noticed that
it only had a radio/tape player in it and I want to change this to a radio/
cd player (mp3 type from Aldi).
Does anyone know if I can just take the old unit out and replace it direct
with a cd player of any type or do I need some sort of extra cable which I
have seen advertised on ebay.

If anyone has asked this before I am sorry to repeat, but I am new to this
type of thing.

This is my 1st visit to this site and over he next few weeks, months & years
I am sure it will not be my last.

I had an mp3 player in my 200dti, it went in but not properly...
The Land Rover units are shorter to allow for the transmition tunnel,so it went in but stuck out around half an inch.
As for wiring... somebody had butchered mine so i rewired it. Although i put the same unit in the 300tdi and it was a straight swap.
