Not mine I'm afraid but I couldn't bear to see this crushed. At a scrappy near me (birnham motor salvage just outside uddingston in Scotland) is a cracking wee series 3 that they want to sell whole for 450 quid. Bodywork is immaculate as I'm led to believe it has been kept in a garage for the past x amount of years and the owner has now died so his son scrapped it. Rear crossmember is ####ed, front offside outrigger is on its way out but rest of the chassis is solid as a rock. Bulkhead is done in and will need replaced but dash is mint, seats are very good condition, windows in the side panels. Has had an ally panel riveted in place of the sunroof so the holes there if need be. Petrol engine but not sure if it runs, for some reason the rad, fan, thermostat cover and a few other bits have been taken off and they're in the back. Mint condition bullbar and bumper. Rear tailgate and catflat config which shuts and locks perfectly. Doors shut solidly but aren't great around the bottom however very easy to repair as nowhere near as bad as some I've seen. Perfect condition general grabbers all round, mint condition white wheels. Modular spare mounted on the bonnet with a perfect tyre.

Hell if I had somewhere to store it I would snap it up and sort it. It looks as if its had a lot of new bits and bobs done to it before being parked up.

Hopefully someone can save this before it gets broken and crushed.

It sucks...I could afford that and probably the costs to get it through an MOT but not the price of getting it delivered to the opposite end of the UK :(

It's worth a shout, I may pop in on Saturday and chance my luck. Need to dig 400 squid from somewhere though. I would just be worried of some pikeys knicking bits off it if I kept it there

No idea, never been there before as my mate always said it was a pretty **** scrappy and that they follow you about so you can't acquire things for free. Seemed perfectly fine to me though but I shall ask

Problem is that I can't weld though. Well, I give stick a go but the results are less than desirable. Bulkhead replacement ain't a problem but its the new crossmember that'll scupper me. That's one of the main reasons I'm reluctant to take it but I still want it to be saved

Doc you're a terrible influence ;) if the missus goes nuts I'm telling her its all your fault. Then again she did say she loves the look of series 3s so I might (big might) let her drive it once its roadworthy.

Anyone else interested in this? I can get photos if need be

See if you can "acquire" a series... just sneak it out under a tarp or something ;)

I'm gonna have to leave it I'm afraid :( just can't afford it at the moment. I spoke to the guy again and he's definitely wanna sell it whole so hopefully it might get snapped up before it gets broken. No idea how long they're planning on keeping it though.

Anyone wants to travel for it ill more than gladly help out/provide a place to kip for the night/scoff etc...
