Greetings from sunny Gloucester.
This is my first posting.
I am a family man and we have had a mk1 discovery 300TDI for eight years. It has done 226,000 miles and is still going strong (I am sure that this is not particularly high mileage for a land rover, but it does dispell any reliability myths). I have visited this great site many times and have finally decided to dip my toe in the water (so to speak). What drove me to speak up is that we are planing a trip to France this August and feel that some of the gremlings we have put up with over the years finally need addressing. Having already changed the cpu for the electric windows once I am planing soon to have a look for 'dry' soldered joints-so many thanks to the site for this fix.
More about me - I tend to be a bit insular (shy) so this is a big step for me. I have an engineering background, a big love of motorcycles and also Land rovers and more- out of room so will sign off.
Best wishes to all
Chas

hello and welcome to landy zone post some pics up of your landy when you can. dont worry the guys on here are not all bad.

:welcome2: to LZ, being a shy person may not bode well for you on this forum. But if you can persevere with the banter etc. then LZ is the best source of Land Rover info on the web...

Welcome Chas

You've obviously lots of experience, but just hide your light under a bush. I'm sure you've got lots of knowledge to share, so don't be bashful.

As a regular lurcher (one who reads posts but doesn't contribute) or if you're Pikey, a dog) you may be aware not to venture into Anything Goes without your body armour.

Ah, just wade on in. Do what I do. Post about stuff even if you don't know what you're talking about. It boosts your post count and gives you credibility.

I'm sure redhand will be most dis-pleased at you calling him a dog:eek:

Oops have looked at records and this is my second 'first message'. So thank you all twice for your greetings. If the armour can stand this then I may last.
To Tazz070299 I have two lurchers (they are great pets)and they both love journeys in the disco. I will await the flack!
