Im getting white Smoke from my exhaust

Iv tried everything and the problem is still evading me?!?!?!

I have an Current Issue British Army Landrover Defender WOLF 2.5TDI FFR

It has failed the military emissions test by a very long way.... Im getting a bluey/white smoke from the exhaust when under acceleration.

I have replaced the Turbo 4 times already, replaced and retimed the FIP, changed the Injectors, ECU, EGR Valve and sensor, adjusted the tappets and still it wont pass its test? does anyone have any ideas as what to do next? Coz I am stumped????

so i take it yer compression was fine threfore so is yer head gasket?

hi , if compressions are all similar no overheating or loss of coolant then you may need to replace piston rings, if worn the piston rings will allow oil to come up from your sump/lower part of engine and this will burn along with diesel causing high emisions,, you could turn down full power adjuster on inj pump, change eng iols and filter and retry emisions test, changing oils and filters before testing will give reduced emisions in a good running engine.

It is also possible to have a head gasket fault that will not show reduced compression readings, but should show itself as maybe oil in header tank, cold heater, and lower part of radiator cold even when engine is hot !
also check foor water contamination in fuel system, fuel filter etc ..
Also check all hoses ,inlet manifold gaskets etc, while the engine is running spray a little wd 40 around manifold area ,any vacum leaks here will suck up small amount of wd 40 and will change tickover speed ,sounds daft but works.

It's difficult if it won't pass emissions test - but has it had a good hard run recently? Something that will burn any residual crud out the exhaust and show up if you're losing oil?

As I understand it white smoke is usually stuff burning after combustion chamber (suspect turbo bearing, but it could be valve stem seals) while too much fuel, too little air shows up as black sooty smoke.

Is it definitely running on four (all exhaust manifold arms getting equally hot)?
