I'm certain there's a part missing here - what should it look like?

In the diagram, it is esr283 and esr282.

Because you have LH and RH parts.

You may find lrdirect are cheaper..

Also you will need the rubber bungs for these brackets.

Whilst you have everything apart it would be worth flushing your intercooler, the get quite gummed up especially if your EGR valve is still connected.

Well my 300tdi fender has the blanking plates, as I did not remove it, I would assume it did have one.

The D1 300tdi has them I know because I took one off. Microcat does show an EGR on the 300tdi defender. Oh and it only has one belt on the front unlike the 200tdi.
