ignition timing

hi all

can anyone tell me what the ignition timing on a 2 1/4 has to be set to using unleaded petrol,

Dunno - the LR manual only goes up to 90 octane fuel (TDC on 8:1 engine) and unleaded is usually 95. I didn't realise petrol was so crap when they designed the engine. Someone will be along with a definitive answer soon I expect. I have to do mine by ear anyway 'cos the pulley mark rusted away years ago!

I think its about 6 or 8 degrees at 87 octane fuel.. But that might be for my toyota. I set the rover by ear.
