ignition lights

help please lads , last year ign switch went tits up wouldnt start old girl up the spring back mechanism went so fitted a push button starter works great now and has done for a year turn key on get ign lights on push button bang she starts , now coming home tonight ign lights didnt come on so wont start switch feels odd am assuming switch gone all together now , my question is which wires go to switch to give ignition lights ie alt and oil lights i would bypass switch and put an independant one in ,and how would it be wired thanks lads lost without my landy dave

What vehicle?

series 3 diesel but she was originally a petrol so ign switch will be petrol thanks

White/red is the feed from the battery (via solenoid) brown goes to the lighting (mostly). White goes to the rest of the electrics.

thanks a great help, ave located a white wire on fuse box that goes to ign switch when you put 12v to wire ign lights come on and vehicle starts great but no heater or fuel gauge will get my head round that one cant be far off eh thanks again dave

all sorted i now have a keyless ignition sounds nice and modern eh thankgod it aint got a steering lock , must hide switch tho or she might go walk about only took 15 mins to wire thanks dave
