Ignition Key In

My 97 rr has stopped displaying this message and others. Whats gone wrong? Do I need to worry? In anticipation of your knowledge and time I thank you.

Drivers door open

do you need these mesages to drive? are you incapable of working out if the door is open? or if the ign key is in? in the trade these are called idiot messages i.e. only idiots need them, most of the dash lights (not the oil pressure light)

Got out of bed the wrong side today? I think the O/P's concerns are that if it's not showing obvious stuff like key in or door open then there is a fault and he's worried it might not be showing more important info.

i din't get outa bed the wrong side, some prick spilt diesel on a roundabout (lorry driver over filling the tank!) which ment i lowsided my motorbike, bending the front brake lever scratching the side and leaving me in pain

Sorry for the rant my knee is killing me, never try to use your knee as landing gear at 30mph.
The funny thing is all the time i was sliding down the road all i could think off was ah crap this could be expensive, once i had stopped sliding my first thaught was quick go see if the bike is ok! i got the bike out of the way of trafic checked it over only then did i see if i still had the correct number of limbs and appendages, and it wasn't till i got to work and got off the bike i realised i may have done more than bugger up my jeans.

i moaned about having a sore shoulder fer 3 weeks after being knocked off a 916 at donny last year, turned out to be a broken clavicle - and it had to be rebroken cos it'd started to re-fuse together (in the wrong place)

and then there's the shock, mild concusion, and when ye wake up the morn G-spot- by ferk ye're gonna hurt worse

I made sure i kept me heed off the floor cause i cant afford to to replace ma helmet, my right knee too the full force of the impact

but ya can get a new lid from motorcycle city, dont think they do new knees do they

int it odd how when your skidding across the tarmac on yer arse at 40 mph your mentally working out how much it's gonna cost to get yer bike fixed

don't think it wid be easy tae replace my old helmet, it was made tae be bomb proof ah think. It's an old ww2 german tin pot

Ah reckon, last time ah did that all ah was worried about was the cars and lorries that went by me head!!!

ah dint slide on me arse ah use mah knee it were already there on the road and mah forearm only one car stopped out of about 40

getting back on topic, i would tackle the drivers door open message first. You most likely ARENT getting the ignition key in message because the BeCM (main computer of the vehicle) doesn't know that the door is open. If it doesn't know the door is open with the engine off why would it bother to show the message??

If you open the drivers door do the interior lights come on?? Not only that, with the engine running, open the drivers door and then try changing the suspension height down to motorway, does the vehicle lower?? Im guessing it will.

Go and check the above and then post back with the results.

Today the display came up with window not set. I reset the window and now all the messages show as they should. Thanks for you help wills. And G mann hijack somebody elses thread next time and as for being an idiot it wasn't me who fell off his bike.
