ignition barrel

Hi folks...

One of my wondrous children has eaten or otherwise snaffled the keys for me disco. What's involved in changing the barrel so I can at least drive the damn thing until we replace the keys?

remove the cowl, drill centres out of the shear bolts that hold the lock use easy out to remove bolts, remove lock, replace with new item

Hold the kids upside down by their legs........(dont tell social services)

I like the last option best!

depending how bad the bit snapped is a pick set would remove it possibly

I found a center punch and A big hammer got bolts turning quite easily. So no need to drill etc

Once that's off you can take the switch off the back of the barrel and use a screwdriver etc to turn it.

Best not leave it like that for long though or you have done half the job for a thief!

Well I got it out. The shear bolts had never been sheared!

Just waiting for the replacement to put in!
