Hi there I hope all is good and your keeping safe n strong and not getting bored with if it helps... l322 ownership on a budget, repaired by a madman !
Well the mirror puddle lights didn't work , I can hear Cilla saying Surprise Surprise..
After reading a we bit it looked like the offending item was the relay.. I did my checks to confirm and Yep that one buried up there in no man's land, why there?
Well there's no way my mits are fitting in ther
so i removed the front door cards and made a simple loom up from the bottom most door puddle lights to the mirror heads, then found the mirror head puddle light wiring,
cut into it, so there is no signal/voltage from the relay to possibly cause problems
(not that there was,cos its knackered)
Then soldered it up and hey presto the thing lights up like a Christmas tree.. Nice.. Works on unlock interior lights on and door open.
They are only 2 watt LEDs so no chance of overloading or causing a problem, and the door and courtesy light are all low wattage LEDs too, there is less wattage now compared to the original capless and festoon bulbs.
I also looked into the dash vents, they only had two that would illuminate,
and that's not good enough for me!
So again i made up a simple loom and just connected into the dash vent wiring and supplied the bulbs and holders and now all four light up, again no problems, and looks like it was meant to,
i have no idea why they were made like this. Happy with the results though.

Now if you had asked me @dwarfer I would have told you I hot glued led bulbs in all 3 dash vents ( no holders) and made up a loom to power them :)
hi there ken , if the original little bulbs didnt light up well , leds was the next step, so far so good, absolutly weeing it down here too
