Is it just me?

Yesterday and today; both from home and now "in the office at work" when I open a thread (namely General Land Rover Chat > defender-blue-prints or > sinking-feeling-diesel) when I right mouse click and open in new tab, the tab opens and the little blue doughnut spins around and around.

Then all of the tabs in IE say (not responding), so it is off to Task mangler for me.

Have had no issues at all in the past.

Here I am on windows 7 enterprise SP1 running IE8
Home I am on XP pro fully SP'd with IE7 (OK - it is old) or a vista machine IE8

I get a similar message on IE and then get a sub message about running scripts which seems to be related to the page loading the banner adverts. I just put it down the penalty of having advertising - but it pays the bills.

I'm getting the same thing using IE8 at work, 100M LAN connection.
Other websites and forums (or fora for the pedants) are browsing ok.

Click on a forum or a thread on LZ, browser goes unresponsive for 30 secs.
Seems like it's trying to run a script.

Going away until it's fixed

I saw this:

https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/193478-IE7-Popup-Issues

.. and thought, what is the difference in this security behaviour between IE7 and IE8. Probably none, so I gave it a try:

.. restarted the computer (by coincidence)

.. and what happened - fook all difference - still getting the "scripts" pop-up

Ah well, at least I tried :)

I'm getting the same thing using IE8 ..........unresponsive for 30 secs.
Same here pages hang for 30 sec or more, moved to another machine (admittedley Vista & IE8, does have 4G RAM, mind you), pages load time about 12 to 15 sec to become responsive.

Query? >> does the site have stats on good load times? i.e do you get an ACK on page loaded after xxx ms?

I am obviously an arsehole then ??

All for the Ayes to the right:D

Ah, i have this problem too on my (brand new and very shiny) work laptop... runnning XP and IE8.

I have no control over what browser I run at work and no ability to install or upgrade / downgrade IE :(

Sad times, i might actualy have to do some work :s

Hi guys I seem to be having the same problem page opens but everything freezes for a bit very annoying . Like when I'm trying to post the next word in word association I'm two spaces
behind

Lol

Interesting thread, until yesterday I have had no problems with this site but now it freezes up for several seconde every time I try to look at a new thread, also keep getting the "script " message. Whats going on! I have no idea when it comes to computers, at least it seems its not something I am doing!

Think I will have to go over to the LRO forum for the time being thats working perfectly!

I run Firefox on Vista, Everyone says they're both are crap, but I've never had a problem... apart from the fact that Devon 4x4 always crashes (Not Responding) Not that I'd ever want to go on it, it's a rubbish site :D

Will try to screen shot the "waiting for ....." pretty much as yours.

But give me a day or so - "are you on that site again" - "no dear"

However:

How many fans was good, as follows

"Hello All,

Seems like a strange question, but how many fans should I have on a 1998 1.8 Freelander. It looks as if there should be two, as there is wiring and an appature for a second fan. My Freelander does not have air-con.

Thanks for your help"

Well, what can I say ??
