idiot !!!!!! freelander 1 w reg

Help what have i done, freelander 1 not starting at all well so decided to replace glow plugs..... could not get to number four so i took off the top two sections of the injection pump.... put all back together now can not get any fuel to cylinders 2 or 3 ... please help what have i done and better still how do i put it right!!!!

So have you tried bleeding air out? failing that something in the pump has shifted.
1)take it apart and look
2)second hand pump

Lastly where are you?

yes tried bleeding it , turned it over for ages,if i put the top section on and it did not line up exactly could it damage anything. i am in telford shrops

my advice is:-be sure nothing flew out and then take it apart-worse case your buying a pump and fitting it.
Retrace your sequence of stripping it and go from there

some one else said might have to get new pump is it right that it has to be re mapped (what ever this means). can i buy second hand one and fit it without messing about with ecu and the like

Try the brown lecky connector in front of the fuel pump.

i will try anything old one. feel so p===ed off. had the car 4 weeks replaced 2 window regulators , 1 door central locking mechanism , new wheel locking nut key, have not driven fifty yards in it yet. do you know if i get second hand pump from scrap yard i can just bolt it on and not have to mess around with electrics . is there a lift pump on my car if so where is it hidden?

If its a 2ldi like mine the power to the fuel pump is supplied through the brown connection fitted on the cluster in front of the fuel pump.It took me an hour or more to find the connection had opened,it sounds like the same thing has happened to you.Unless its ****ing out 1 and 4.

looks like all the leads are in tight , pump making noise so presume thats working. looks like i got to take pump back to bits , wish me luck... if it all goes t*ts up will have to stick to driving my 106 budget will not stretch to new pump

tried everything i can think of including everything other people have advised me to do but still no diesel from 2 or 3. fitting second hand pump on saturday ..... any problems i should watchout for?
