Hi,
Anyone with any experience of Iceland, 4x4 safari.
Looking at a 3(ish) day break.
Seems to be a lot of companies running this sort of thing
but they sure know how to charge!! then they want
accommodation and food on top.
Thanks.

John

My wife and I had a 5 night holiday in Iceland two years ago. We went out every night on a coach trip to see the Northern lights and only got to see them on the last night. I would have loved to do a Land Rover tour, but could not afford it. Iceland is a beautiful place, we will go back one day.

In 2016 I am putting my land rover in a container and shipping it to Iceland to do a two week tour about during the summer with the family, it's an organised event, I think it costs £665 per person, obviously that excludes shipping, and flights.

I have friends in Iceland. It's a very expensive country for everything! And they eat some weird food!!!

Not sure how far north you're planning on going but Húsavík and Akureyri and the jökulsárgljúfur national park is amazing… My friends have a summer house there :)

South - the gullfoss geysir and the blue lagoon spa are also worth a visit :)

As for tours, i can't really help (sorry) - we just used one of their 4x4s…

Me, my other half, my best mate and his other half went in April this year.
We hired the cheapest available car with SadCars, and just drove around the South West of the country hitting Geysir, Gulfoss, Reykjavik and a couple of towns along the south coast (using their local geo-thermal swimming pools - definitely not a tourist feature, but worth a go!) We were only there for 5 days 4 nights, however, we did the touristy stuff you can do in a regular 2wd car and camped easy enough wild, camping is definitely worth saving money. We did it on a shoestring budget of £500 each including £200 spending money and did it we did! To go again, I think I'll drive around to Denmark in the D90 and catch the ferry, as exporting your car appears to be the biggest ball ache known to man, and I'd be on Iceland mainland for at least 2 weeks getting all the places we couldn't before.

Just saw a group/page on fb called Iceland Rovers... Specifically organise 4x4 tours :)
