Latest update on icarsoft.
after sending them an email explaining my disappointment with their product and technical support ( of which they boast about in a lengthy blurb attached to their reply emails ) they send me an email telling me to try the abs 2001 onwards option.
I mean duhhh......
do they honesty think that I wouldn't have tried that given that my car is in fact a 2001 and ive already told them I have tried every option available???
This is the level of technical support from icarsoft......pathetic!!!

Up to your post I'd only read good things about the i930 and the support provided by iCarSoft. Your troubles though do rather show them up as very questionable. You can sort of understand there being problems with a run of production that was obviously small, ie your MK20 ABS looks to have been a relatively small run in production - but their response to that hasn't been very good.

I wonder if you could keep your eye out for a cheap MK25 and its ECU? Wonder if they are interchangeable and will work with the other networked systems, from what @td4van says, probably not. Also a messy fiddly job to change the ABS units over - I had to take the bumper and front light out to change my WABCO one over and presume the others would be just as fiddly - plus (even though I tried to avoid it) I ended up with brake fluid running everywhere when the pipes were disconnected!

01MY Teves is the Mk20 and 02MY on is Teves Mk25 and are different and have different comms setup

Apparently the icarsoft CR Plus (ebay item161736189531 ) has more features, maybe this model can connect to the ABS?

Update on i930 issue
After emailing icarsoft 3 times over 3 weeks I received an answer from their engineer.
which reads

Thank you for your email.

Engineer said as it need security verify to test your car,
I'm afraid i930 can not test ABS system of your car .
Sorry about that.

Needless to say I'm very dissatisfied with icarsoft. They should state clearly that for certain models of car the unit will not work for on a specific module. If I'd known this I would have put the hard earned 90 quid to a hawkeye.
so if you're thinking of buying an i930 for a 2001 td4 please think again. You'll be as p*^@ed off as I am.
works great on a 2002 td4 tho to be fair.
hope this helps anyone who's looking for a code reader for a td4.
Thanks to everyone who offered advice on this thread.
cheers.....mitch

Wish I'd found this thread before I just bought one lol! - have spent an hour this morning wondering what I'm missing when it won't read my ABS system.
