enjoy enjoy enjoy. thats what it is all about
makes a pair of socks suddenly feel very inadequate indeed

Atleast its got the proper Jag motor ;)

Has it had the valley pipe done? if not i'd budget some pennies to get it done

make sure if its over 60k its had a transmission service..

The ZF6hp26 is bombproof but requires a service, it takes ZF lifegard 6 nothing else!!

It is a farce to fill aswell!!

Also!!

don't be tempted to buy any substitute ZF kits Meyle do one but its not worth it!!

Also as i said above its a farce to fill, most mechanics don't know how to do it properly make sure you're present when it's being done!

The proper ZF kit is around £250 and it comes with a megatroix adapter seal aswell as 21 t40 torx bolts, 7litres of lifegard 6 and the plastic sump.

If it hasn't been serviced the bolts on the plastic sump will be t27 which love to strip!!

All new kits come with T40s!! they're all torqued to 10nm

The Kit if its a proper ZF will also have an instruction manual!!

Make sure it doesn't slur between gearchanges especially when cold also make sure it engages all the gears immediately if it takes a little coaxing that'll be the valvebody solenoids wearing and letting pressure escape that'll need a valvebody rebuild, again this is a simple job but very fiddly.

DON'T USE DEXTRON FLUID.

The 6hp is more than capable of taking 700nm of torque it just requires a good service!! ;)

Also look underneath the Megatronix adapter seal likes to leak when it gets old..

It'll drip on the rear gearbox mount.

Probably not. its spent it's life in jockland so unlikely preventative maintenance been done.

It really wasn't an intention. I was looking for a 4.4 about 03 but this came up and well. I have a hankering to play Russian roulette...... with an automatic.

The P38 bless it's cotton socks needs some TLC. I've had the front cover parts in the garage for a month or so but wifey needs to use it to ferry the now toddler around. I'm working a 150 miles away 2 days of the week so the cayenne is being used by me. the P38 has been a trooper. I know it needs attention and things to do and it just keeps soldiering on and on. When the outlaws leave from Christmas I'll squeeze in the garage and see if I can get it done before back to work.. then need to arrange collection of the L322 ... anyone fancy giving me lift to the Midlands! :D

Curious as to what difference it's previous location makes to preventative maintenance? Is it a weather thing, or a terrain thing ?

I was out with a pal of mine who is a jock yesterday, as he was drying his teabag out to reuse he told me that not all Jocks are tight.
Too be fair never met a tight one yet, very friendly folk in my opinion.
There are tight and miserable in all walks of life. My ex mother in law for one :p
