i need a brain help

hi guys,yes its true dont laugh i do need a brain i been told. ok i have 4.6 hse 1995 love it to bits.i notice the drivers floor was a bit wet one day,so call in at the local landy to be told its just prob the o rings at the bk of the dash what need replacing as its come from the heater.the o rings cost next to nowt but it be 300 for them to take the dash out.so few days later i get the waring lights come on n stay on ,tc,handbrake,abs,then my brakes r not working right,i had trouble stopping.so bac to landy n tell me whats happen is water run under the driver seat were the brain is ,n water must have got in to it n wont work right,so they say it bout 1000 to get one,.now my randy as lost its poke the power not there. so can anyone one help me out on this ,is it right the advice i was given or they thinking its a female.tell she needs a brain. dont no what to do,can i get seond hand ones with the key n were from.:doh:

3 hours max for heater o rings as for bcem under seat it wants eka code and dried out -failing that irish rover is your man.

I'ts difficult for the becm to be immersed in water as it sits higher than the footwell, the damage is more than probably caused by the evaporation of the leaking cooland mix inside the becm. The connectors to the becm need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned with switch cleaner first, then the becm paced in a warm place for a day to be dried out, preferably the airing cupboard....don't use a hot air gun.
Be wary of buying second hand becm's etc., always make sure that they are guaranteed as fully working. I have worked on several that have turned out to be faulty and sold as good.

Do you really put the bad one's in the dustbin? If so I might be interested in buying one of the dead ones to have a look at

If you want, I can fish one of them out. The logic board is shot, but the power board seems o.k.
