Yo guys

Last night my van was broken into i was lucky as my van was empty so they got away with **** all!

Its got me thinking about a basic alarm system for my 300Tdi defender. i just want a basic system that make a loud noise if the brake in and try to take tools or a bag ect it will cause attention to the vehicle.

I have several anti theft security devices but not one that will make a loud noise!!!!

What have you got? Im looking for recommendations.

Cheers landy-lee

Mine is a 95db siren on a 7 sec delay trembler switch/relay, mounted inside with it's own independent power supply!
It works!!

the crime rates must be real bad over there. lots of famers leave the keys in tractors and truck as no one wants to steal anything just no interest.

You said it bud. Tractors, heavy plant, landys, posh cars, you name it. Nicked and over the channel brfore the owner wakes up in the morning.. :(

How about one of these?:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300db-12V-60W-Loud-Horn-Car-Van-Truck-5-Sound-Tone-Siren-Speaker-Warning-Alarm/311955043272?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=2&asc=49138&meid=caedfca5571c4ce0881dbe9187725d94&pid=100005&rk=5&rkt=6&sd=311974903702&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

It claims to be 300db

I am not sure it’s possible to generate sound that loud, possibly at the centre of an atomic bomb blast.
300db would be like a death ray, it would vaporise anybody in its path.

I've had an aftermarket immobiliser fitted to mine, but also fancy something a little noisy so that I can at least hear the bastards if they have a go outside the house.

I have one of these, 120db is too painful to remain in vehicle if it goes off, its way louder than any car alarm.
Bout £25 quid, no wiring, works if battery is disconnected by cutting from below etcc.
You can set entry and exit time, disarm with a pin no of your choice.
Its attached to the roof in the cab in the middle. Takes x4 AA batts.
Trust me it does the trick! Frightens the crap out of the missus cos she forgets to disarm it!

if you really want to play mystery black wires and solder joints, then I would go with Autowatch AKA Toad / Sterling

You can get them with remotes now, but its just another thing for me to lose/break! Besides i like the PIN thing!

16 stone rottweiler on the back seat. Can't get much more basic than that.
Make a hell of a racket too and especially if they get the scrote.
To be honest most of the cheap alarms are OK but if you want a real alarm then Clifford Alarms seem to be the top choice and top money. E-bay?
