has anyone else had this problem ? - its running fine until hot then it loses power & there is a buzzing noise coming from the fuel pressure reg - the reg is not leaking & the fuel pump seems to be fine ( the wetness is oil from the rocker gasket ) - i am looking to change regulator for another known good one & hoping it solves this - any ideas poeple ?

Might be the pressure regulator has let go, you can get a repair kit on E Bay quite cheap, its a little bit fiddly but not too bad, but if you do it DONT loose the little mesh filter sitting inside the head, it sometimes falls out when you take the o ring out.

cheers raywin collecting new gasket & o ring from land rover today & i am going to change the reg tonight - hoping that solves it - it is only a cheap pattern reg off another engine i have for now - if it solves it i will buy a gen land rover regulator after chrimbo

No problem I have done mine and it's a bit fiddle but a bit of patience will do the trick, keep things as surgical clean as possible you don't want any dirt in those injectors.
