I finally bought a D2 yesterday, and will be picking it up next weekend :)

I will be doing lots of work on it over the next year or 2 so stay tuned.

And once you have followed old Grumpys advice
I would check the chassis again coz sure as sheeeite there will be issues
Seems the younger the TD5 the worse the chassis is
I've been under my 51plate tonight removing the front hub and chassis still looks OK

yeh I had a real good look. No holes or rot, lots of surface rust though, but i'd expect that on an 02 plate ... the first thing I am going to do it give it a good clean then waxoil it.

Congratulations  Here is my( unasked for) free advise ask about the locking lug nut key ( if so equipped) when you pick up it up. Trust me it might save you from having a night like I had 2 days after I bought mine. Yes it was a dark and stormy night, along the autobahn , right rear tire flat :(. After what seemed like hours found the lug nut key under the passenger seat ( on my discovery it is the right seat ) in little compartment where ( if so equipped) the cd changed would be.
