Got a whole new drivers door on order, should come this week. Been driving around with a cracked door frame for three years; it's still secure but got to the point the draft from the wobbly window was getting out of hand. Both parts are well rotten, looking forward to draft free motoring.

I fitted the new type door seals to the bottom of the door with the help of sticks like s**t. That way I didn't have drill holes in my new doors.
The new type seals are much better !!

Jeeeeeeeeez o_O

Thought from the thread title you'd admitted to your Mrs. exactly how much things cost :p

Why fit seals to the door side when the seals and are on the vehicle side?

Mine arrived today. Look OK but have to fit locks to the bottom and sliding window.first job to paint and then fit locks . Weekend job .

My door seals were missing from the vehicle sides, they do wear quickly cos your trampling all over them. The new type door seals which are fitted to the door are a better seal anyway.

Not seen these new ones. I fitted the tube type a few months ago but even these aint perfect. Only just opened the box for the door tops so should have them on next week.

Painting mine today prior to fitting tomorrow. There's still quite a bit of flaffing fitting the window lock, the door lock and the inside linings.

I am using a new (to me) paint system on my trattor on this occasion. It may be interesting to those who are thinking of brush painting their bodywork.
I am off work for two weeks after today so I'll keep it under wraps until done and let everyone know how it went.

I'm hand painting so looking forward to hearing more on that. Hope it goes well .
I am about to attempt a full respray using a £30 spray gun. I have had some fantastic results using one for small jobs and am looking forward to seeing how it fairs. £30 cant buy a decent set of brushes. As I am looking for a semi gloss finish so that it doesn't look like a polished turd I am interested in how it turns out. Ill also be using a polyurethane paint for the first time and possibly applying oversprays to age down the finish.
I hate a trattor wearing a new coat. :D

****e weather preventing fitting doors this weekend . Need landy during the week so its next weekend for the fitting.

I
Not even near. I havnt even got the ruddy door tops on yet.
I have tried it out on a spare front valance and grill panel but there aint a lot of surface to get a good idea of finish and I have only undercoated them.
The spray I am using is a HVLP unit. Thats High volume low pressure and basically works off a vacuum cleaner motor in a small base station with a 2 inch hose delivering the air to the gun.
I have used one in the past for concrete colouring and like the idea. The problem however is the paint has to be thinned perfectly. They have a very rough spray pattern towards a traditional spray gun so the paint has to break and flatten as it hits the surface. Took a bit of playing with but I got there in the end. Not tried it on a vertical surface yet so more experimenting will be required.
