Huge Fuel leak

Hi,

I had a leaking fuel pressure regulator replaced on my 03 td5 and today it has blown completely. If I turn the ignition on it actually pour down on to the floor.

What could have gone wrong? It is a brand new part, could they have cracked it by overtightening? Will it have done other damage other than the loss of 30 ltrs of juice before I realised.
