How to identify model i.e ES, E, S

ES has electric leather seats and sunroofs, some "wood" on the dash, air conditioning and a CD auto changer. Can't help with the E or the S but I think the S was just above the entry level disco and fitted with alloy wheels but was never badged as S.

My V5 is Discovery ES V8I Auto

My V5 has the SE part to it.
On the Microcat system (parts catalogue) there is also a facility to search for and obtain your vehicle spec which lists every conceivable extra fitted.
A quick search on this forum will find you the option to download it or if you want to know the spec just send me a PM with your regd mk or chassis no. It has to be the original regd mk and not a cherished transfer.
regards

Thanks for all the help, purchased my discovery two weeks ago just presumed it was an ES with it having full leather, wood and all the other bells an whistles.

Looks like their is a premium for having the ES a jump of 2 points on the insurance scale from group 13 for the base models up to group 15 for a bit of leather, oh well cant win them all :p

Many thanks

Dave

Because there are so many options at the ordering stage it is difficult to say what is a standard Disco. Mine is classed as a GS Auto but the spec is more similar to a premium

Im confused too, I think mine is a GS with dual zone climate control. I have cloth interior and manual sunroofs (Less to go wrong I rekon... LOL). And cassette player *gets onto Car Audi Direct*

Mine is an ex Japan '98 Tdi Disco. (i'm in NZ) It is an 'S' model. It has cloth trim, steel wheels, a/c, airbags, no sunroofs. I have added L/R light guards front + rear.
Any help? Oh, ES's came from Japan too. Full leather and twin sunroofs and alloys. Occasionally ya find one with rear a/c too.

this is interesting,

our 1994 300 is a tdi auto on the log book, but its badged as the ES, and got full leather (not electric) twin elec s/r..air-con..elec wind..elec mirrors..twin air bags..ABS...freestyle alloys...7 seater..????????

has someone been playing? or is it cos its the early 1?

That is an early one. The 300 series arrived in September 1994 and there was the top of the range ES in the lineup. Your leather seats will have the grab handle style of head rest then, also the ES has fog lights incorporated into the front spoiler.

My 98 ES has heated electric leather, 2 zone air con (not climate), twin electric roofs, 2 tone alloys, 6 disc auto changer, cruise(not working)....NO WOOD. and loads more...

It also says "ES" on the side.
