After a wee mis hap the other night i need to fit a new uj joint to the front prop and transfer box, has anyone fitted this and could give any advice?

When the uj snapped the prop shaft then hit the gearbox sump and i have to replace this to as its leaking.

ANy advice on fitment of above would be great

Also how much transmission fluid does the gearbox take?

Range rover is a 97 4.6HSE

Most of the fluid will be in the torque convertor. Get a gallon of good ATF for starters-pain in the ass feeding it down the dipstick tube. If you don't already know, check the level when idling COLD, move the selector slowly through the gears with the handbrake on hard and check & top up as required. I think the fill from empty will be around 14 pints but I doubt you will need nowhere near this amount.
