Ridiculous question to ask being 4 months into ownership I know but...

Whens the normal speed/rev for it to change up gears?

If i want to force it to "kick down", what should I be doing?

More beans!! - I.E:- Put your foot down ! (more throttle) - - It should then select a lower ratio, make more noise, use more fuel, and might just go a bit faster ..... unless it is chipped, then it will go faster

When the TD5 auto box is cold it holds onto the gears for longer (as you will be aware as it gets colder and colder..)

Remember it's only a 4 speed auto, the torque converter locks up around 52mph when it's warmed up, giving it direct drive (torque converter no longer slipping) which sort of brings it inline with 5th gear in a manual version TD5 in terms of engine RPM at the similar MPH.

In order to Kick down, you need to be driving over 1st gear (obviously) and rapidly fully push the throttle to the floor and it will (should) 'kick down' a gear or two depending on your speed and accelerate as fast as it can and make lots of noise.
