Hey Up Peepz,
Quick question.
The engine in our P38 Diesel has 'apparently' been replaced with a low mileage engine from an Omega. Is there any way to check this at all?
Cheerz in Advance.

If it has EGR the P38 engine will have a black plastic inlet manifold. Omegas had an alloy one. There will be an engine number stamped on it. If you are patient enough you may get something from that. If it runs ok what is the problem?

Problem is that how much does it cost to have the tensioner chain replaced as the mileage on the dash say 200k+ lol.
The Omega had only about 78k on the clock so could do with knowing its cost for the future.

Cheerz for the help btw.

The parts will cost around £200.00-£250.00. It is a big job so maybe 8 to 10 hours labour. At 78k they should not need doing for a long time yet. Depends on how well engine has been looked after.

i have a similar thing with mine its fitted with the 5 series engine it did have the plastic intake before but it wouldnot fit the bmw head the bolt pattern was different so i used the ally bm one it seems to run ok ... ish.
