L322 How to change speedometer from mph to kph on 2011 L322

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to change the main speedometer dial from mph to kph on a 2011 L322 4.4L TDV8? I can change the little mini display to kph but not the actual speedometer.

I’ve searched all the various cockpit menu options as well as all the options on the head unit.

If the main speedometer is an analogue device with a needle, you would have to physically change the dial, in which case there would not be an option to easily change it.

I am of the belief it should be able to be changed via diagnostics. So if you have or know someone with the correct diagnostics it's in one of the files.

I have looked at ours. Not touched.
I actually don’t think you can change the main dial just the digital display in the middle with the stalk button.

You probably could if you went in deep with LR diagnostics but I am pretty sure it would complicate other things, so live with numbers

Did a bit of reading and my next bit comes with the caveat I have no idea which ccf file they refer to.
"Use the GAPiid tool and settings can be changed in the ccf file."
This answer comes up over and over, so must have some credence.

If the instrument pack is virtual display there should be a setting within the ipc to change this if this is not available using sdd configuring the ipc as new it it will ask if ipc is required in mph or kph when configuring. Before starting programming leave old ipc conected as sdd will extract mileage out of ipc and input to new ipc

.....or just use a feckin TomTom which will give you your speed, in kph, as well as if you are breaking the law!!!

Or a free app like DigiHud on your phone or tablet to display speed & distance in KPH, MPH or Knots with the ability to set speed warnings at a speed of your choice.
