hi there everyone. been reading forum for a while now,been looking to find a defender at sensible price. i've got the chance of a 1996 90 hardtop with 61000 miles never been off road and never spent a night outside. is like new inside and the body is in good nick with only one little dent. only down side is there is no mot and chassis is needing a fair bit of welding. anyone know what sort of money it would be worth?

Could be wrong here but if it has never been off road and never spends no time outside, should the chassis really need a lot of welding doing to it??

Good recipe for rust is driving on salty winter roads and then putting it away in a nice garage. Condition of paint work would be a better indication of how long it has spent outdoors.

I would agree to that. Only way it could need welding is if it was driven and then left salty and wet in the garage to rot.
Personally, I'd be suspicious of how it could have got so bad.

Why have a land rover and never take it off road, is there any pictures to let us see how good nick this is in apart from the chassis. What about teh bulkhead???
