what do you pay in your country???

From our Tax site:
A 2.5 DSE will pay, in 2011, 52,84€
The 4.0 or 4.6 will pay 380,18€

That's an annual tax.

thats a fairer price. 1st thing my misses says when i told her the price differance was "yeah but look why Portugal are in financial trouble" i said yeah but road tax here is between 300%-400% higher and we in the toilet too!!!

Thinking a bit about this, road tax cannot be compared directly. We pay heavy taxes on fuel and lots of our freeways now have tolls.
For reference, the current fuel prices are at 1,60€/lt for petrol, 1,38€/lt for diesel and 0,72€/lt for LPG.

we have toll roads here too, petrol is €1.50 per Ltr diesel is €1.43 per Ltr. dont know the price of LPG but im guessing its similar.

And for some reason in UK small low powered cars are cheaper to tax than bigger engined RRs for example. View this logically, Range Rover driven sensibly and not necessarily every day against a small boy racer wagon that gets thrashed sensless through all the lower gears revving its guts out at 6000rpm to get anywhere - and it's on the road just about all day and night. Who's putting out more emissions?

Hate to upset you Garrick, road tax here in France is a big fat ZERO Diesel is €1.31 per litre. We have tolls on the autoroutes but you don't have to use them as the national routes are pretty good. Oh and France has come out of the crisis pretty well.

I reckon Oz is one of the most taxed countries for, fuel, rego, insurance etc etc

We pay Rego, determined on age/weight and cc rating, then CTP (Compulsary Third Party Insurance) which is determined on, use of the vehicle, post code it is garaged in, and age of driver(s), (you cannot get your vehicle registered without this) and a Pink Slip (akin to a W.O.F or M.O.T)

My rego is up soon so I dunno how much I will pay all up on my Freo

last rego I paid for a Mazda Van was AUD$696.00 for 6 months!!

Don't understand the UK system very well, so I can't compare.

Im a little concerned what the total for my Rover is gonna be!!:(

well if we did take out our engine and stick in electric motors do you tink the BECM would Sync with it??? lol though i do like the idea of free road tax on a range rover and little fuel costs! i wonder how many AAA batteries i'd need to power my bad boy?? and i wonder will jeremy fearns make an uprated chip for the electric motor?? lol

Here in sweden we pay more road tax for diesel cars than petrol,

Range rover DSE ~£850 a year (unless registered as a light truck @ half the tax)
Range Rover petrol ~£250 a year

£212 annually (or was that 6 months...cna't remember) for my P38 2001 4.6 running on LPG...well it was last year....it's due again in June so lets see what they ask for next time.......

Just checked....£250 I think.....
