Replaced my old one with an LPG one and I've not got around to advertising my old one - just come to do it today and its gone a bit mouldy, looks a bit tatty, was thinking I might just avoid the hassle of advertising an entire car and strip it down for bits.

Wondering if I'll get the money back or is this a way to lose money? Only looking to find about £1500 and I've got all the facilities to do the work, surely this must be possible?

Its in good condition, airbags on the back all working, no amigos etc, cruise works, just looks mucky and unloved.

You'll be lucky to get rid of it, in bits or otherwise. The market is flooded with D2's being broken as the chassis go and owners can't afford to fix them.

A good Thor V8 engine is probably worth £500, gearbox/tranny box £150 - 200, most of the other bits are already in multiple auctions on the bay of E.

Axles £50-100, wheels and tyres £150 depending on condition (I've bought 3 wheels and tyres in the last week, three virtually new tyres and wheels to match mine for £130, last one today went for £26 wioth a nearly new tyre)

Some of the electronics can fetch money, but you have to have it available when someone wants it, and it's always the case that you put it on sale and get no bids, a week later one sells for silly money!

You might be better off selling it complete, there's a huge amount of work involved in stripping and disposing and not something that's a 5--minute job.

Is it manual or auto?

Its an auto.

It puts my new one to shame for how it drives, gearbox is lovely compared to the new one and I was half thinking of putting the engine and box in the newer car. Obviously might need to take a hit on that but it would also leave me with the other engine and box to sell.

Its got 18s and I've a few spare rims, they'll all go out I suppose.

Tried it as a car on Ebay, no interest at £1500.

Look how prices have fallen over the past year or so, bonnets £50, complete tailgates about the same, complete doors £40 etc, but they don't seem to be moving.

It's still very much a buyer's market I'm afraid.
