Hi Guys
I may need to hire a engine crane, HSS do one that will lift 500kg, is that enough to lift a 200tdi clear of a disco ?

yep - 200 won't be more than 300Kg, even with everything attached

you do know you can buy a suitable crane for about £130 ?
 
obvious to some, but as you extend arm the weight capacity decreases

nah i reckon it'd be fine - what makes them cheap uns hard to use is if you have to move them over even slightly rough ground as they wobble and sway - over nice smooth floors they are grand

wouldn't want to lift 500Kgs with them every day of the week mind
 
One thing to take into account is how high will it lift the lump - you've got to get a good height to clear the slam panel and Land Rovers aren't the lowest vehicles to begin with!
I used a block and tackle on a suitably strong beam - but i suppose thats only an option if you've got a suitable building with a suitable beam and roof height.

a even the 500Kg ones will lift twice that with a couple of chubby blokes to balance

but seeing as the engine weighs nowhere near 500Kg ....
 
I 've a clarke fold up model from machine mart and load leveler definitely paid for it's self time and time again:D

hahahahahahahahaha it'll be an el cheapo from HSS it'll lift it but i wunt trust it as far as i could throw it, a couple of years ago i would have said borow mine but i have had so many tools go missing i dunt lend them to anyone now!
 
yes and a 3 ton trolley jack to lower it with wheels off if needed it will **** out.
one engine crane driver and assistant(s)
