hi
in the process of buying a td5 90, should i worry about a 2003 with 69000 on the clock,or i have the choice of a 2003 with 44000 on the clock? there is about a £1000 difference for the lower miles

No ---- its about how it has been kept and looked after. Go with what has the best feel and history. This sort of mileage is no prob

thanks for that, if i go for the higher mlies it means i will have money for add-ons but in the back of my mind i keep thinking of the lower mileage and no toys !

£1000 would be a good safety net for anything you need to do when you get it. I keep on saying it (boring old bugger), bulkhead, chassis, crossmember and no dodgy smoke on start up...not forgetting a feel good test drive...so there !!! lol

what about one with 149,000? are they still considered decent as they seem to be holding their cash as if this kind of mileage isn't too much of an issue?

My 1994 300tdi 90 has 152000 on the clock. I have had it 10 months and done 4k. The engine has had regular oil and filter changes (I have done one) using the cheapest 15/40 diesel engine oil. I was advised that once they get these sort of miles on you don't use fancy oils.
The mileage did not put me off... as mentioned, if it has been looked after and not battered to death off roading then 250k is easily achievable.

Morning Hock iv had my 90 for 3 weeks bought it with 149k on it only probs iv had so far have been the immobiliser that the previous owner installed acting up but as for the engine seems fine as stated above regular oil changes and servicing are the main thing-iv still got the owners handbook from 1992 and all M.O.Ts.

If you need a good fully qualified auto elctrician I can recommend a mobile one in your area who charges by the hour...he has done 2 jobs for me. Imobiliser and wired up extra lights. Send me a message if you want his details.
