Well.. after my disco lost all its power, I started looking for what could be wrong..

wastegate was ok, moving perfectly fine, turbo was fine, new jubilee clips around the turbo hoses I had recently changed...

and got to the hose from the air filter to the turbo... this was where the problem was! the internal walls (like a rubber membrane) had come loose, so when the turbo sucks the air in, they were probably closing the air passage...

anyway, went to newbury 4x4 today to get a new one...guy says, none in stock will have to order, let me call dealer and check how much is it...

£70!!!

wtf?!!??! for a hose?!??!?

anyone know where I can get this cheaper???

thats what i paid last summer for one, but can't promise they aint changed,
google the part, maybe ebay shop or another LR surplier has one, don't pay dealers money EVER!!

Its for the 200 though...dont think they are the same as the air filter boxs are different, so this hose is likely to be different too..

****e.... cant find anything cheap!!

I think i'll have to send a few messages to discos breaking on ebay and hope that no one actually knows the real price for that hose and asks for a tenner or so...

no way I'll pay 70 quid for a hose...

have you asked on here :p

ATTENTION:
[JP] IS LOOKING FOR AN AIRBOX TO TURBO AIRPIPE FOR A DISCOVERY, think 300tdi ask him!

something like that jp :p

hahahaha!!

Nice one... however, its a 200 disco :)

Anyone...please???

I'll tell you my sad tearfull story where I've spent the last 2 months deprived of mud and water, welding my disco so it didnt look the titanic everytime I went in a bomb hole...
and now that all is finished it feels like I'm driving an old ford transit as the turbo is not kicking in...

please...?

Dunno how easy it was, but....

A mate found same issue, de-lamination of the airbox to turbo hose, moulded ribs in it to stop it collapsing, costs a shed-load to replace. So looked in local breakers for similar sized aluminium tube, got some about 1" less diameter than the nackered hose for a tenner or so ... loads of fairy liquid later and he had an aluminium reinforced air inlet pipe .. ;)

Worked well. The slight reduction in cross-sectional area did'nt seem to matter much and he reckoned it restored all power!!

Might be worth a try ...

mmhh... that's a good idea, but the ally pipe inside would have to be bent too..
might be difficult to do that?

ideally I would like to try another hose to at least be sure this is the problem, but dont know anyone local that has a 200, only 300s!!

Dunno details of how he did it but mabe cut and bend, or in sections, after all it's only suporting the de-lamination, it isn't being used as the only pipe .. though I guess it might be a consideration if you're any good at welding ally ... ;)

Ask Iannotts if you ain't got one yet :) Give him the part number and he will give you a price.... Normally a bloody good price compared to the other companys :)

yes!!!

found one on ebay off someone who was breaking a 200 disco...
clearly he didnt know how much it is new...got it for 15quid!
