Hi All

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good explanation of how the wastegate modulator actually works e.g.. what the three pipes functions are, what's actually going on inside the little box itself in different scenarios etc

Thanks :)

Shim

in a nutshell, one pipe(to the bottom) is with boost from the intercooler, one goes to the wastegate actuator valve and the other to the intake, it acts like a bleed valve which lets part of the boost from intercooler into the intake as to reduce the pressure to the wastegate as to open later, at low revs the modulator is closed and keeps the boost from the wastegate valve as to keep it closed too which will ake the boost to raise harder in the intake, as the revs are growing the ECM activates the modulator through it's electronic circuit to open gradually so the wastegate will start opening as well as at full load of the engine to not create overboost. ...if something is unclear just ask and be aware that the description in RAVE is wrong in this particular area
